About
About The Spiritual Science
The Spiritual Science is an independent publication about the old questions of mind and spirit: what thought is, what consciousness is, and what, if anything, outlasts us. We write about the traditions that tried to answer those questions, mainly Hermetic philosophy and the New Thought movement, and about the modern research that tests some of their claims.
How we write
We separate three things that often get blurred: history, belief and evidence. When a book or teacher claims something, we say who claimed it and when. When research exists, we describe what it found and its limits. When something is a matter of faith or personal practice, we say so plainly and let readers decide.
What we are not
We do not sell courses, readings or cures, and nothing here is medical or psychological advice. If you are dealing with grief, illness or a mental health crisis, please talk to a qualified professional.
The name
"Spiritual science" is an old phrase, used in different ways by different writers. We use it in the simplest sense: approaching spiritual ideas with the same curiosity and care you would bring to any other subject.
